In the process of making the new NingXia Red even more beneficial, Young Living reduced the caloric content by using stevia, a non-caloric, natural sweetener. In addition, using the stevia lowered NingXia Red’s overall sugar content. Young Living recommends people drink more NingXia Red each day, while feeling confident about not consuming excess calories and sugar. Stevia leaf and extracts have been used for centuries. Stevia glycosides can be up to 300 times sweeter than sugar. The specific glycoside rebaudioside A (used in NingXia Red), imparts the best flavor with the least amount of aftertaste. Testing shows the new NingXia Red contains only 2 grams of sugar per ounce.
NingXia Red uses whole wolfberries—juice, peel, seeds, and fruit—in a naturally beneficial juice puree. Using safe, effective preservatives allows NingXia Red a longer shelf life and protects the wolfberry benefits, all while keeping the entire mix free of naturally occurring microorganisms.
The previous formulation of NingXia Red was easily one of the most beneficial on the market; however, with new research and production techniques, the new formulation of NingXia Red is even more beneficial.
